Coronavirus: Chief Imam directs Muslims to pray in their rooms

 
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has directed that meetings at mosques, weddings and other gatherings should be  suspended for the next four weeks.
This development is in line with the President’s directive on the on the coronavirus epidemic outbreak in Ghana.
Health authorities Sunday afternoon announced that six cases of the disease have been recorded in the country.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Sunday evening announced that all public gatherings, including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious activities, such as services in churches and mosques, are to be suspended for the next four (4) weeks.
Speaking at a Press conference Monday morning, Sheikh Sharubutu asked the caretakers at the various mosques in the country to fix sanitizers at the entrance for members for usage by member of the mosque.
“This is a difficult moment for Ghana but in order to stay safe, it is advisable, all in the Muslim Community goes according to what President Akufo-Addo said yesterday,” he added.
