Court remands into police custody farmer who allegedly murdered wife

A 57-year-old Farmer, Gideon Tetteh, has been remanded into two weeks police custody by the Ofaakor District Court for allegedly murdering his wife Sabina Bonney 45, on Monday, this August.

Gideon Tetteh, was arrested by the Ofaakor District Police Command for allegedly murdering his wife few days ago.

In court on Thursday, the prosecutor said, the accused purchased a half piece of land and subsequently constructed a two single room apartment where they currently live but upon occupying the apartment, the accused registered the documents in his name ensuing misunderstanding between the duo over the period.

He said, although the deceased financed the construction, the accused threatened her with death whenever the issue was raised.
On Monday afternoon, whilst their children were in school, the accused dragged the deceased to the room and demanded for sex but upon refusal by the deceased, the accused tied her hands and legs, stripped her naked, forcefully had sex with her and after struck the head of the deceased with a pistil, locked the door and left her in a pool of blood.

The accused after several calls to the deceased phone was told that the wife is unconscious and that is at the clinic. He showed up at the Jei Krodua Clinic were he was arrested.

The prosecutor prayed the court remand the accused into police custody to allow for further investigations and subsequent legal advise from the Attorney General.

The magistrate, His Lordship, Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako granted the plea and remanded the accused into police custody to reappear on the 1st of September, 2022, whilst awaiting the legal advise from the Attorney General.

He was charged with a first degree felony. The accused, a farmer was married to the deceased for 23years with five children.
