The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is set to intensify COVID-19 measures to avoid further outbreaks of the disease.

Although there has been a decline in COVID-19 in Ghana an increase in the number of new cases in China and other countries has become a alarming.

This, according to the GHS, calls for critical monitoring before the next decision is taken.

GHS has since urged Ghanaians to avail themselves for vaccination to marginally save the situation.

“Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health are critically monitoring the situation in consultation with key stakeholders”.

“We will shortly come out with our country specific measures to address the current threat of COVID-19, especially with respect to importation.”

“Those who have taken their first dose are to go for the second dose, and those who have taken their second dose are also entreated to go for the booster.”

“Vaccination remains the best protection against Covid–19 infection,” statement issued by the Director-General of the Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said.
