Covid-19: Take charge of your own health – Nurses to public

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA), Prince Opuni Frimpong, has called on the general public to be cautious of their health and make adherence to the covid-19 safety protocols a priority.

According to him, there is no point in being coerced to protect yourself from contracting a virus as deadly  as coronavirus.

He called on the general public to get all the necessary PPEs including nose masks and hand sanitizers to help protect themselves.

Prince Opuni Frimpong made these comments while speaking on Atinka TV’s maiden Stakeholders Breakfast Dialogue on the Coid-19 variant moderated by Ekourba Gyasi.

“Let your health be your number one priority and don’t wait for anyone force you to protect yourself. I have bought about 10 packs of nose masks. I keep some at home and I have some in my car. We need to take charge and protect ourselves before help comes from government,” he added.
Meanwhile, The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that the earliest vaccine for protection against the deadly coronavirus will be in the country by March.

He assured Ghanaians that the vaccine will only be one that has been tried and tested by the appropriate health authorities.

Akufo-Addo said this while speaking to Ghanaians in the 23rd Covid-19 update address on Sunday 31st January 2021.

The President also urged Ghanaians to continue to pay attention to their health, improve their fitness levels, and eat local foods that boost the body’s immunity against the coronavirus.

Ghana has recorded 696 new cases of the coronavirus bringing the total number of recorded cases in the country to 6,086 as of 5th February 2021.

The death toll is pegged at 440.
