Democracy Hub protest: Barker Vormawor arrested

The leader of  Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker Vormawor has been arrested by the Ghana Police.

The police launched a manhunt for Barker Vormawor on Sunday after the lawyer and some members of the group acted violently during their three-day protest against Galamsey.

Some of the protesters led by Vormawor allegedly entered a police car, removed the ignition key and threw it away.

Barker Vormawor was arrested on Monday afternoon according to the police.

“The Ghana Police Service has arrested Oliver Barker Vormawor, one of the leaders of Democracy Hub for the various unlawful acts he was involved in on Saturday 21st September, and Sunday, 22nd September at the 37 Intersection in Accra”, the police service disclosed in a brief statement.
