The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the results of the 2024 presidential elections will be declared at 4:30 PM today. According to Dr. Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations, the Commission has received results from 13 out of the 16 regions, paving the way for the final announcement by the Returning Officer.
Addressing the media at the National Collation Center, Dr. Tettey urged the general public to adhere to the Commission’s guidelines regarding access to the center. He emphasized that only individuals with proper accreditation would be allowed into the premises.
“We are urging the public to stay home and watch the live broadcast of the results declaration. There is no need for supporters of political parties to gather at the National Collation Center. Such actions are illegal and unwarranted,” Dr. Tettey stated.
The EC assured Ghanaians that the declaration would be conducted transparently and in accordance with the law. The public is advised to follow the live telecast of the event, which will begin promptly at 4:30 PM.
The Commission also called on political parties and stakeholders to maintain calm and ensure peace during and after the declaration.
