The NDC’s Volta Regional Secretary, Precious Agbenya, has stated that the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of the Petroleum Commission, Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle, will not apologize to Frank Annoh-Dompreh today or tomorrow.
This is despite calls by Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education and other parliamentarians on Hardcastle to apologize to Annoh-Dompreh.
A video circulated on social media showed an altercation between the Nsawam Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh and Emeafa Hardcastle
during recess at the Appointments Committee’s vetting session on January 28.
Following the fracas, Annoh-Dompreh formally petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, calling for consequential actions and requesting the formation of the Privileges Committee, describing the incident as an unprovoked attack on his reputation as a legislator.
Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie, with Paul Norsah, Precious Agbenya who is also an NDC Activist recalled when Frank Annoh-Dompreh described the then NDC Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama as a curse on the Nation during the campaigns prior to the 2024 elections.
According to Precious, when Annoh-Dompreh was asked to apologize, he did not because the NPP as a whole felt they own this country.
He said the youth of this country will not take anything from anyone who feels more valuable than the other or anyone in Ghana.
Precious was of the view that if Hardcastle should apologize to Annoh-Dompreh, then Annoh-Dompreh must also apologize to the President, John Dramani Mahama for calling him cursed during the campaign towards the 2024 elections.
“I do not think anyone has the right to ask the lady to apologize on the statement she made.
If they are asking the Lady to apologize, then they should call Anoh Dompreh to also apologize to the President of the Land,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has announced plans to summon Hardcastle for questioning over the matter.
