Speaking on Atinka TV‘s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mr John Kumah explained that per the calendar, the Controller and Accountant General Department (CAGD) usually pays the workers either plus or minus one week, hence the delay in receiving salaries.
He further explained that sometimes, the workers receive their salaries earlier than the end of the month due to the plus or minus one week of the payment.

He also said other times, the workers receive their salaries a week later, admitting that the trend is normal.

Mr John Kumah noted that some may have received theirs while others may not have received theirs, saying that however, the Finance Ministry has paid everyone.

“Everyone will get their salary, there is no problem.”

When asked why people are anxious over the delay in the payment of salaries, he said people may be anxious due to the comments by the Speaker of Parliament that Ghana may not be able to pay workers in the next three months.

Meanwhile, he said what the Speaker said will not happen, adding that, “As far as we are concerned, there is no problem.”
