The founder and leader of the Life Assembly Worship Center, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has strongly criticized the rise of doom prophecies in Ghana, stating they are detrimental to the country’s progress.

Speaking during an interview on Atinka FM’s Morning Show hosted by Ekow Budu Sam, Osofo Kyiri Abosom expressed deep concern over the influence of self-proclaimed prophets, claiming that “99% of prophecies in Ghana are fake and misleading.”

“These doom prophets are pulling the nation backwards. We shouldn’t entertain them,” he stated firmly.

He predicted that such figures will eventually vanish from the religious landscape, just as certain traditional beliefs and outdated Christian practices have faded over time. According to him, the current and upcoming generations are becoming more discerning and critical in their thinking.

“Today, people no longer strictly follow old religious norms such as forbidding women from wearing trousers or wigs, or designating special worship centers for specific individuals. These changes show that we are becoming wiser,” he explained.

Osofo Kyiri Abosom further emphasized that the decline in blind belief in concepts like heaven, as traditionally preached, is also an indication of growing awareness among Ghanaians.

He concluded with a strong appeal to the public: “Let’s stop giving attention to these so-called prophets. They are derailing our development as a nation.”

The outspoken cleric, known for his unconventional religious views and for once running for president, continues to challenge the status quo within Ghana’s religious community.
