Forensic audit premature – EC replies NDC

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has responded to the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) call for a forensic audit of the voter’s register, describing it as “premature”

At a press conference held in Accra on Thursday, the deputy chairperson in charge of operation, Samuel Tettey stated that the Commission is committed to ensuring the integrity of the voter’s register but emphasized that the NDC’s demands are untimely.

The NDC had earlier called for a forensic audit of the voter’s register, citing concerns about potential irregularities, however, the EC maintains that its processes are transparent and robust.

The Commission assured the public that it will continue to work tirelessly to deliver a credible and transparent electoral process, but cautioned against “unnecessary distractions” that could undermine the electoral process.
