Former UEW UTAG President forcefully ejected from official Bungalow

 

 

A member of the University of Education, Winneba governing council and former UTAG President, Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe, has been forcefully ejected from his official residence by University authorities.

According to the governing council to the UEW, Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe reportedly threatened to kill the Omanhene of Effutu Traditional Area and council member, Nenyi Ghartey VII, chairman of Governing Council, Prof. Emmanuel Nicolas Abeka, Ag. Vice Chancellor, Rev Fr. Prof Afful Broni and other council members with a machete during an emergency meeting held on Thursday 22nd February 2018.

The incident saw the governing council issuing a dismissal letter to Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe over insubordination.

Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe has since challenged the decision of the council members on the grounds of wrongful dismissal.

In an interview with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive, member of the University of Education, Winneba Governing Council and former UTAG President, Dr. Samuel Ofori Bekoe explained that although the issue is still in court, the authorities of the University stormed his residence destroying his belongings.

According to him, the Winneba Police is yet to respond to a formal compliant he lodged.
