HandsOffOurHotels: Police brutality victims honoured at Labadi Beach Hotel

In a gesture of solidarity and recognition on Ghana’s Republic Day, victims of police brutality from the recent #HandsOffOurHotels demonstration were treated to a special victory lunch at Labadi Beach Hotel.
Hosted by the MP for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the event celebrated the victims’ resilience and bravery in the face of adversity.

The event, held at the renowned Labadi Beach Hotel, known for its multiple awards and consistent profitability, underscored the enduring spirit of those who stand up for Ghana’s liberties.
Hon. Ablakwa emphasized the importance of never forgetting those who fight against state capture, echoing the sentiments of Republic Day.

A notable guest at the celebration was the La Kpa Wulomo, Nii Yemo Obroni VII, whose participation in the June 18 protest made headlines. Coincidentally, the event also served as a celebration of his birthday, a rare honor for all attendees.

“We wish the brave and exemplary Wulomo a long reign in good health with boundless blessings,” – Hon. Ablakwa expressed warmly.

Despite one compatriot recovering and unable to attend, the mood at the gathering was one of optimism and solidarity. Guests noted with satisfaction that the victims of police brutality are progressing well in their recovery.

Hon. Ablakwa extended his gratitude to the management and staff of Labadi Beach Hotel for their exceptional hospitality and warm welcome. He specifically thanked them for their generosity, although declining a discount offer out of a desire to support the hotel’s ongoing profitability.

Reflecting on the day, Hon. Ablakwa described it as “a really memorable Republic Day” and reiterated his commitment to serving “For God and Country. Ghana First 🇬🇭.”

The event at Labadi Beach Hotel not only honored those affected by recent events but also highlighted the community’s resilience and unity in the face of challenges, marking a poignant moment on Ghana’s Republic Day.
