“I am the best candidate for Anyaa Sowutuom” – NPP Parliamentary Aspirant

 
New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate aspirant for Anyaa Sowutuom, Emmanuel Tobbin, says he is the best person among the other NPP parliamentary aspirants seeking to contest the Anyaa Sowutuom seat in the December polls.
Emmanuel Tobbin says he has a rich experience and has served the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency for quite long and has gathered enough experience to represent the constituency in Parliament.
Emmanuel Tobbin said this while speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi
Speaking on his visions for Anyaa Sowutuom, he Emmanuel Tobbin, said even as aspirant, he has instituted the “Tobbins revolving fund” which support members of the constituency especially market women with soft loans to.
According to him, when given the nod to contest and subsequently win the 2020 elections on the ticket of the NPP, he will rebrand the ‘Tobbins revolving fund’ to ‘MP’s fund’ to be able to assist more constituents.
“Among the contestants, I have the rich experience, I have been in the constituency for such a long time and I know all the pros and cons of the constituency. I am a grassroots boy who have lived in Anyaa Sowutuom for over 30 years. But at the end of the day, I am the best candidate among all of them”, he added.
Emmanuel Tobbin who has been a staunch member of the NPP party in the constituency called on constituents to elect him during the primaries and subsequently vote for him in the December 7 polls to continue the good works of former Member of Parliament, Ayorkor Botchwey.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) suspended its parliamentary primaries originally scheduled for April 25, 2020, to elect parliamentary candidates in constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament ahead of the 2020 General Elections.
The decision to suspend the primaries was taken at a National Steering Committee meeting held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, due to the ban on social gatherings as part of national efforts towards the containment of the Covid-19 epidemic.
“The National Steering Committee, by reason of Article 10(10)(1) of the party’s constitution, is the body responsible for overseeing the daily management of the party, and thus, mandated to ‘act on behalf of the party on urgent matters’ such as in the circumstances we find ourselves as a party and nation owing to the Covid-19 pandemic,” General Secretary for the NPP John Boadu said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Director of communication for the NPP Primaries, (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has asked general public to expect anything with regards to the impending New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries.
He said Ghana is not in normal times and that there are alternatives if the current predicament persists.
“We are not in normal times and for us in the NPP, anything is an option. The most important thing is that at the end of the day, we are able to elect people to contest the elections. That is our topmost priority”, he said.
