Jomoro MP holds reconciliation meeting with competitor

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament for the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, has conducted a reconciliation exercise following the primaries that resulted in her retention.

The purpose of the exercise was to bring everyone on board, particularly the  main candidate who competed with her in the primary.

Mr. Francis Akatia Kwaido challenged Madam Affo-Toffey in the recently concluded NDC primaries.

Ms. Affo-Toffey received 1,574 votes, making her the re-elected candidate for the 2024 election, while Mr. Ackatia Kwaido, who ran for office for the third time, received 175 votes.

Executives and other supporters of both candidates, madam Affo-Toffey and Mr. Ackatia Kwaido, were present at the meeting.

After the meeting, Mr. Ackatia Kwaido expressed his willingness to support Jomoro’s candidacy in the 2024 election. He stated that such occurrences are anticipated in an internal contest, but it is advantageous when candidates work together to ensure victory.

The move, according to Ms. Affo-Toffey, was made to assure victory in the 2024 election.                                           She stated that the party cannot win the 2024 election without unity.

In the 2024 election, Mrs. Affo-Toffey pledged to cooperate with all parties to retain her seat.
