A fire outbreak that engulfed Kantamanto Market on Tuesday Morning, November 29,2022 has destroyed items worth thousands of cedis.
The fire swept through the market, consuming items including clothes, shoes, bags, and even money.
Although no casualties have been recorded so far, some of the owners of the affected shops at Kantamanto were left in a state of shock.
According to an eyewitness, about 200 shops were razed by the fire.
The eyewitness said when the fire started, it was so strong that the Ghana Fire Service had difficulty dousing the flames initially. Seven fire tenders were sent to the scene, and two additional ones were sent later as the fire intensified.
Meanwhile, some of the shop owners, passersby were at the scene to help fight the fire.
