Ahead of the December elections, the New Juaben North Office of the National Commission for Civil Education has held an Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) meeting for political parties and other stakeholders.
The meeting, which brought together political parties, stakeholders, and citizens, took place at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Bethel Congregation in Effiduase, Koforidua.
There were representatives from the various security services, the Electoral Commission (EC), the National Investigative Bureau (NIB), the Regional Peace Council, and the Local Council of Churches, among others.
Also in attendance were the Eastern Regional Director of NCCE, Mrs. Ophelia Ankrah, the Deputy Director, Mr. Augustine Bosrotsi, and the Deputy Director in Charge of Programs, Mad. Juliet Simpeh Yeboah.
The Chief of Jumapo, Obrempong Kwame Oppong-Owusu III, who is the Chairman of the IPDC admonished all stakeholders to play their respective roles for a peaceful election.
The Municipal Director, Mr. Ebenezer Acheampong, advised political parties to desist from using money as bait to have citizens vote for them.
He also charged the members present to always verify information before spreading it.
Mrs. Dorcas Akoto Donkor, the EC Municipal Officer urged Ghanaians to be vigilant and proactive, ensuring that every activity is free of violence.
The Committee elected new executives to lead its operations over the next four years.
The Committee elected Abdul Aziz Mohammed, the Chief Imam of Oyoko, as the Chairman, and Rev. Stephenson Addo, the Chairman of the Local Council of Churches, New Juaben North, as the Vice Chairman.
