Kumawu by-election: NPP’s Yaw Anim wins massively

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Kumawu in the Ashanti region, Ernest Yaw Anim has won the by-election in that constituency.

He polled 15,264 votes representing 70.91%  while the candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwasi Amankwa polled 3,723 votes representing  17.29%.

One of the Independent candidates, Duah Kwaku polled 2478 votes representing 11.51% while the other Independent Candidate, Kwaku Duah had 62 votes representing 0.29%

Kumawu has 34,800 registered voters and the elections were conducted in 75 polling stations.

Kumawu has been a safe seat for the  NPP since 2000.
