Former NPP chairman for New Juaben North, Mr Kwadwo Boateng has opined that former President John Dramani Mahama cannot be compared to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in terms of credibility.
He said this after a number of surveys indicating that Mr Mahama will win the next elections because he has competence, credibility and others over the NPP’s Candidates popped up.
This was after the Vice President picked his nomination forms on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
A number of surveys, including that of Global InfoAnalytics, done in April 2023 survey indicated that Ghanaians will prefer Mr Mahama as the next President of the country over Dr Mahamudu Bawumia or Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
According to some of these surveys, Mr Mahama has the exposure, credibility and competence over Dr Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen.
In response to this on Atinka 104.7 FM with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Mr Kwadwo Boateng disagreed with those surveys, questioning how Mr Mahma’s credibility can be compared to that of Dr Bawumia after leading the country and being kicked out and wanting to come back to lead.
“Let’s say you come and ask, who do you trust in terms of credibility, how can you say Mr Mahama is more credible than Dr Bawumia? On what Basis? he quizzed.
He recalled that before the 2020 elections, there was a similar survey on Mr Mahama and Dr Bawumia and people wrote that Dr Bawumia had no credibility and their reason was that the Veep promised to arrest the Dollar but he could not.
However, he questioned again if people trusted Mr Mahama over Dr Bawumia in terms of credibility.
“Do you think Ghanaians trust Mr Mahama? He spearheaded the economy, the nation, a chairman of cabinet. Has Bawumia ever been a chairman of Cabinet?” he quizzed.
Meanwhile, he said Mr Mahama also made some promises but during his time, he failed to fulfill them, adding that everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.
He also stated that Dr Bawumia has more credibility compared to Mr Mahama.
