Ghana will once again see massive development if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is elected into power in the 2020 elections, former President Mahama has said.
Mr. Mahama addressing party supporters at the Assin North constituency in the Central ahead of his party's presidential primary said, Ghana is very hard and that Ghanaians are really complaining bitterly about the economy.
Mr. Mahama, who is very optimistic that things will turn around if he becomes president again said, “history can confirm that Ghana always develops and the citizens enjoy when the NDC is in power.”
Commenting on the recent hikes in the fuel prices, he stated that, when NDC was in government, a gallon of petroleum sold at GH¢14 at the pumps and Ghanaians were complaining then but now it is sold at GH¢25 and still going.
He said President Nana Addo and his government lied to Ghanaians to win power in the 2016 elections but they (NPP) have been exposed following the recent complains about hardship in the country.
He assured that, when he [Mahama] and the NDC are brought back to power in 2020, Ghana will see development again.
He, however, called for peace and unity amongst members of the party as the main objective of the party now is to win the 2020 general elections.
Mr. Mahama urged party supporters to desist from 'fighting' each other and vote for the right person to lead the party to victory in 2020.
