Missing Excavators: Arrest all those involved-Former NPP MP

The Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma North Constituency NPP, Mr Justice Joe Appiah has called on government to arrest all persons who are involved in the missing excavators irrespective of their affiliations as NPP members.
According to him,”The issue is smelling in my party and I will not sit here and praise them. You think I am a fool? I will not sit here and praise the NPP for this recklessness. Ekow Ewusi, Frimpong Boateng or whoever is responsible should bend their head in remorseless shame. If we have to deal with them, it is the tax payers money.”
The Former NPP MP also said that,”You seize people’s things for engaging in something that is wrong, and then you take it that you are going to sell it, is it bad if the owners eat as well? We have to be very careful in this country.”
He was speaking on Atinka TV’s Morning Agenda, a segment on Ghana Nie where he made the comments.
When asked if he was happy that Frimpong Boateng was still occupying his position as a Minister, Mr Joe Appiah answered,”I am not happy he is still in his position, listening to the background of the conversation, I am not happy.”
Meanwhile, he was sure that Ekow Ewusi intentionally recorded the audio, in order to proof to others he did not embark on the move alone in case he is exposed.
“If it is my people people who are involved in such a scandal they should be arrested. We should not entertain such things in Ghana. It is corruption at the highest level. They have to be dealt with. Let our yes be yes and our no be no, what my party is doing about the excavators is smelling,” he said.
He added that,”The president has dedicated himself to serve the nation to stop galamsey and you want to disgrace him last minute. We are not going to allow you people.”
For his part, the Former MP for Mfantseman constituency, NDC, and Former Central Regional Minister, Mr Acqinas Tawiah Quansah who perceived the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Frimpong Boateng as somebody beyond reproach said,”But when I heard the conversation I was surprised.”
He also said that,” I do not blame Ekow Ewusi. He is a little fly, this is somebody who was voted as the Vice Chairman of the Central Region and he has been suspended indefinitely.”
Acqinas Tawiah said,”Ekow Ewusi is an auctioneer by profession, he was part of galamstop, so if we want to auction excavators and we have an auctioneer amongst us, why don’t we use him. So it was like using him for their game, because at the end of the day, I don’t think he can take the excavators by his own will to go and sell. Because the game is bigger than him.”
He also opined that with all the big names involved, including John Boadu, Ekow Ewusi does not have the ‘balls’ to go and take the excavators and sell without the knowledge of the ‘big boys’.
“They wanted to use him to do the game, but he is not a stupid boy, he is not a daft boy, he is a smart boy that’s why he looked for a back-up plan, in case tomorrow he is blamed he shows what exactly happened,” Acqinas Tawiah added.
