Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has officially ended months of speculation surrounding his future by signing a new two-year contract extension that will keep him at Anfield until 2027, according to the BBC.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward, regarded as one of the greatest players in the club’s history, cited his deep love for the club, shared ambition, and team spirit as key reasons behind his decision to stay.
“I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football. I have played eight years here — hopefully, it’s going to be 10,” Salah said following the announcement. “I’m enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I have had the best years of my career here.”
Over the past few seasons, Salah had been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, with several reports suggesting record-breaking salary offers. With his previous contract set to expire at the end of this season, many believed he could be lured away.
However, this new deal signals Salah’s intention to remain at the top of European football and continue his pursuit of major honours with Liverpool.
Salah has already etched his name into Liverpool’s history books, having won every major club trophy available — the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. He also stands as the club’s third all-time top scorer.
