NDC Flagbearership Race: Mahama Files nomination

Aspiring Presidential Candidate, for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has filed his nomination to contest the 13th May, 2023 primaries of the NDC.

His nomination was filed on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 by Former Presidential Aspirant, Prof. Joshua Alabi.

Mr Mahama officially picked up nomination forms on February 22, 2023 to run in his party’s upcoming presidential primaries.

Prof. Joshua Alabi picked the presidential nomination forms on behalf of former President John Mahama at the NDC headquarters in Adabraka.

On Tuesday, Prof. Joshua Alabi. together with former Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije; the immediate past Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Boamah Otokunor and some supporters went to file the nomination on behalf of Mr Mahama, also at the Party’s headquarters.

After receiving the completed forms, General Secretary of the party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey okayed the Former President and urged him to prepare for vetting.

In other news: Ghana demands experience, not experiment- Ex-Prez Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama, who is running for Flagbearer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), says Ghana needs experience, not experimentation, at a time when the country is facing numerous challenges.

He said this at the launch of his campaign to contest the flagbearer race for the NDC.

Speaking at the launch which was held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Mr. Mahama observed the current economic situation of the country and noted that Ghana was bankrupt.

“I have searched my soul and paid close attention to your voices, to your daily struggles, and to our present national predicaments.
At this stage, Ghana demands experience, not experiment. Ghana demands togetherness and not divisiveness, now is the time for bravery of hearts and clarity of purpose,” he said.

The Former President stated that six years ago, despite the NDC’s best efforts, the people of Ghana decided to entrust the management and administration of this country into the hands of the NPP.
