NDC Primaries: Duffour withdraws suit

Flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffour has withdrawn his application seeking to injunct the incoming Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries of the party slated for May 13,2023.

Dr Duffour on Tuesday, filed for an Interlocutory Injunction on the NDC’s elections.

According to him, the photo album register issued by the party was incomplete and inaccurate hence the court action.

However, on Friday, May 12, he withdrew the lawsuit in order to address the issues concerning the album internally.

After filing the suit, some political Analysts and members of the party advised Dr Duffour to solve the matter amicably with the Party.

One of his colleagues, also aspiring to be Flagbearer of the NDC, Mr Kojo Bonsu advised him to withdraw his suit against the party’s primaries in the interest of the party.

He was of the view that Dr Duffour should rather sit with the Council of Elders, the National Executives and the Election Directorate to address the issue amicably.

Meanwhile, his withdrawal of the injunction suit paves way for the NDC’s presidential and parliamentary Primaries.
