A Political Marketing Consultant, Dr Bernard Tutu Boahen, has stated that no law stops the Former President, John Dramani Mahama from going to the 2024 elections with Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate.
This comes after some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) called on the Flagbearer of the NDC to drop Jane Naana.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Bernard Lav, Dr Bernard Tutu Boahen urged those making the call to allow the Former President to make his own choice.
Despite the advice, he questioned if the Former President sees Jane Naana as someone who can help him get more votes or help him in Governance if he is elected again to lead the country.
He observed that during the last election, even in the Central Region where Jane Naana Hails from, the NDC did not perform very well, which suggests that maybe Jane Naana could not bring many votes to John Mahama.
Meanwhile, he noticed that the Central Region has a lot of swing voters, saying that if one is not able to convince them, they will not vote for the person.
Besides that, Dr Bernard Tutu Boahen recalled that in 2008 when President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo went for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his Running Mate, he could pull a lot of votes for President Akufo Addo.
He said even in the second attempt, which was in 2012, Dr Bawumia, although had become known by the people, they did not really vote for him.
Despite failing twice, he said President Akufo Addo was not discouraged, adding that despite calls to drop Dr Bawumia, he said President Akufo still went ahead with Bawumia as his running mate because he knew when it comes to governance, Dr Bawumia could help him ad that at point where he is not available, Dr Bawumia can hold the fort.
“If the Former President, John Dramani Mahama says he will go with Jane Naana, the law does not stop it. I am not sure that the NDC has a law that stops John Mahama from going with Jane Naana,” he said.
