No NPP MP will go unopposed in Greater Accra- Parker France warns

The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Parker Odarlai France, has warned sitting Members of Parliament that none of them will be allowed to go unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries

According to him,  the decision aims at correcting mistakes that caused the party to lose many seats in the last general election.

“There was no directive from above that we should protect some MPs. It was our own regional decision. Moses Anim went unopposed in the last primaries; this time he will compete in the primaries. We lobbied for Tina Mensah to go unopposed the last time, but she will go for a contest this time. What we are telling the MPs is that they should work hard because nobody will protect anybody.”

Speaking on Atinka TV on Saturday, Parker France said, the just-ended primaries in some orphan constituencies have given them a good justification for this plan.

“We received a lot of complaints after the orphan constituency election but our next president, Dr. Bawumia has solved almost all,” he said.

“Oko Boye was a national material and many people were disappointed when he lost the election. His defeat wasn’t because he wasn’t a good MP but because we didn’t give him a good contest at the internal level and people who wanted to contest him were not happy so they worked against him underground. Dr. Oko Boye is coming back,” Parker France said.

“Nana Dokua grew up in Achimota and she is over qualified to contest for the Okaikoi North Seat. We are happy they had a good contest and we are winning that seat back.” – Parkar assures.

“Our Brother who won the Ablekuma Central seat, Jefferson Sackey, had a tough contest. A lot of issues occurred and we need supporters of Ebenezer Nartey to win this election. The  Vice President has spoken to them, ” he said.

“Don’t step on people’s toes, they will come after you. Don’t expect the region to block anyone, No, we will not protect anybody,” he warned.

Daniel Parker Odarlai France appealed to party faithful to keep all hopes alive and remain united as it is the only thing they need to win the 2024 election.
