Northwestern Christian University, USA confers PhD on Amb. Bishop Samuel Ben Owusu

The Northwestern Christian University, USA, has conferred Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) on Dr Samuel Ben Owusu, the United Nations (UN) Eminent Peace Ambassador to Ghana and the General overseer of Pottersville Church International, Covenant Christian Leadership College.

This was after he secured first class in applied Theology and Organizational Leadership, PhD programme at the Northwestern Christian University.

The PhD was conferred on Amb. Bishop Samuel Ben Owusu by the Chancellor of the Northwestern Christian University, Professor Dr Edward Ade on Sunday, July 31st 2022 at a convocation ceremony which was held at the Pottersville Church International in Ghana.

Although the graduation ceremony of the school was held in 2020, Dr Samuel Ben Owusu could not attend it in the USA due to the covid 19 pandemic.

Aside Professors and the Dean of the Northwestern Christian University, dignitaries who graced the occasion which also marked the birthday celebration of Dr Samuel Ben Owusu included, Apostle Abraham Lamptey, Bishop Lord Mensah, ACP Kofi Sarpong, Dr.Isaac Appiah. Rev Dr. victor Oklu, Rev.Godwin Nador and Noble Nketia.

Speaking after receiving the honour, Amb. Bishop Samuel Ben Owusu who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Charisma TV, thanked God for the grace and wisdom to complete the course.

“I want to thank God for his grace and wisdom to complete my PhD program in applied Theology and Organizational Leadership which was earned at the Northwestern Christian University, USA. It was a special honour and privilege to have my Professors and Dean come to personally confer my degree upon me, as I could not attend the graduation in 2020 due to the covid pandemic. I want to thank God also for adding another year to my life and for allowing my family and church to celebrate with me,” he said.

Dr Samuel Ben Owusu continued that, “This journey became possible because of the undying support of my dear wife, Rev Dr. Joy Owusu who has unwaveringly stood with me through all things, supporting me, and encouraging me. I thank all my spiritual sons and daughters who came to support me during the birthday celebration and convocation ceremony, you have honoured me in ways I will always be internally grateful for.”

He also thanked the Pottersville Nation Church for availing itself and all members who worked tirelessly to make the ceremony a success.

“The love you have for me, is beyond measure, thank you, and may God always bless you. To those of you who watched on the live broadcast, thank you for the time you spent supporting the celebration. May the lord bless you all, as we continue to build the kingdom of God,” he added.
