NPP Primaries: All is set for the elections on June 20 – Evans Nimako

 
Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Evans Nimako, says the Party has put in place all the necessary measures for the successful conduct of the Annual Delegates Congress tomorrow, 20th June 2020.
The NPP’s annual delegates’ conference to elect candidates to represent the Party in the 2020 December polls comes off tomorrow, Saturday 20th 2020.
Speaking on the preparedness of the party on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Ekourba Gyasi, Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Evans Nimako, said
Commenting on the safety precautions to prevent delegates and candidates from contracting the covid-19 during the exercise, Mr. Evans Nimako, said the Party has made available nose masks which will be given to all delegates and candidates before the start of the elections.
He added that veronica buckets, as well as alcohol based sanitizers will also be provided at the entrances of the polling stations for use.
Meanwhile, General Secretary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, said the Party is set to acclaim the sole Candidate who filed his nomination to contest in the 2020 Presidential Primaries, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the Party’s Presidential Candidate on June 27th.
The acclamation of the Presidential Candidate together with his Running Mate will be done at a special National Council meeting of the Party to be held in Accra.
The statement signed by the Party’s General Secretary, John Boadu, mentioned that the Party will also hold parliamentary primaries in three outstanding constituencies.
“The Party equally resolved to hold Parliamentary Primaries in Gushegu, Dormaa Central and Kwadaso Constituencies in line with the decision of the Party’s National Executive Committee as follows: With the Gushegu Constituency, the Party, after extensive consultation with relevant stakeholders, has, in line with Article 12 of the NPP Constitution, selected Mr. Hassan Tampuli as its Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency. This follows the decision of the two aspiring Candidates, Hon. Iddi Ziblim and Osman Mahama, to withdraw from the parliamentary contest”.
