Obengfo CEO was suspended in 2013 for medical malpractice

It has emerged that Dominic Obeng-Andoh, Director of the Advanced BodySculpt Centre at the Obengfo Hospital at Weija was suspended in 2013 for medical malpractice.

Dr. Obeng-Andoh has been arrested over the death of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Stacy Offei Darko.

Offei Darko, 37, died at the hospital during treatment for an unknown ailment. Her remains, according to her mother, Nana Akosua Anima, was concealed at the facility by Dr. Obengfo for three days before it was sent to the mortuary without the knowledge of the family.

Registrar and CEO of the Medical and Dental Council Dr. Eli Atikpui told Joy FM Super Morning Show that said Dr. Andoh was suspended in 2013  for three years by the Medical and Dental Council for medical malpractice. He added that  Obengfo Hospital had no license to operate and was shut down on several occasions.

He wondered why an institution that was closed down by the Council reopened to put the lives of Ghanaians in danger.
