Prolific HighLife Songwriter, singer and performer, Obiba Sly Collins has thrown his support behind Mark Okraku Mantey as he is lobbying to be given the position as the deputy minister in charge of tourism and creative arts in President Akufo Addo’s second term.
Speaking to Roman Fada last Saturday on Atinka Fm, he added his voice to one of the topmost issues which is being discussed on many platforms across the country. He said that, Mark Okraku Mantey can do the job perfectly if he brings together people with knowledge about the respective ministry to help him.
Obiba disagrees with the section of Ghanaians with the opinion that Mark does not have the required skill and know-how to handle that position. He explained that, Mark is a very learned young man who has experience in the industry for a long time and can, therefore, deliver.
The likes of outspoken Ghanaian self-acclaimed dance hall king, Shatta Wale believes that the fact that Mark has worked with many artistes in the industry doesn’t mean he has the requisite skill and knowledge to handle the sector but Obiba Sly Collins believes that with his experience over the years, he (Mark) would know who to call for information to ensure the betterment of the industry.
