The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has officially invited President John Dramani Mahama to the final funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
A royal delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I delivered the invitation this morning during a courtesy call at the Presidency in Accra.

The funeral is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
It is expected to be a solemn yet grand traditional ceremony to honour the life and legacy of the Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom.
President Mahama, in response, expressed his deep condolences to the Asantehene and the entire Asanteman, describing the passing of the Asantehemaa as an “immense loss to the nation.” He assured the delegation of his full commitment to attend the funeral and pay his final respects.

The late Nana Konadu Yiadom III passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98. She was the revered mother of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and served as the Asantehemaa with dignity and wisdom, playing a vital role in the preservation of Asante customs and heritage.
Preparations are ongoing for the funeral, which is expected to attract dignitaries, chiefs, and citizens from across Ghana and beyond.
