SONA 2018: Support police to tackle Fulani issue – Nana Addo

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has asked the general public to support the cause towards tackling the issue of nomadic herdsmen in some local communities.

“We will not allow miscreants to terrorize our population”, he added.

Nana Addo made the declaration Thursday at the second State of the Nation Address on the floor of Parliament in Accra.

Three soldiers and a police officer, who are part of a task-force set up to evict nomadic herdsmen in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region, were wounded in January after clash between Nomadic herds men and farmers in Agogo in the Ashanti Region.

Unknown assailants reportedly laid ambush and shot at the security personnel, who were in the bush as part of measures to evict the nomadic herdsmen and their cattle.
