President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated the covid-19 pandemic has presented the NPP-Government with the opportunity to resolve some long-standing problems in the health sector.
According to him, the government recruited more nurses to support with the fight against the disease in the country.
He said government has been able to resolve the country’s infrastructural deficits, saying that it has built hospitals, expanded some community hospitals and is still investing in the next generation of Ghanaian doctors.
“We have taken steps to resolve the problem of infrastructure deficit in the healthcare system once and for all, with the inception of Agenda 111 and the Start of the building of hospitals around the country.,” he said.
Akufo-Addo added that,”We are upgrading district hospitals where they exist and establishing new ones where they do not. We are also investing in our next generation of Ghanaian doctors and nurses.”
