The low patronage was blamed on the low publicity that characterized the resumption of operations by the Ghana Railway company limited.
Stations such as Asoprochona, Batsoona, Achimota and Odaw, all had few passengers to pick in a convention train which was used instead of the known Diesel multiple unit.
Passengers on board were charged 5ghc for first class and 3ghc for third class.
Madam Sarah Darko who was on board the train with her daughter, explained why she opted for a train instead of a car.
Some train passengers mainly traders who spoke to Atinkanews News called on authorities to improve the services and the safety of passengers.
Officials of the Ghana Railway company limited were also on board to sample views and concerns of passengers in order to improve their services.
In a related development, train fare prices are likely to go up this evening, from GHC5 first class to GHC7.
While that of the Second class is expected to be pegged at GHC5 from GHC3.
