A Security Expert, Mr Adams Bonaa has urged leaders of worship centres to take details of persons who patronise their facilities, especially unknown persons who visit the worship centres.
That, he said will help leaders of the worship centres know who comes in at all times and possibly raise alarm over any terrorist suspicions.
His caution comes following that of the Ministry of National Security which called for improved security at worship centres.
The Ministry of National Security has urged all religious groups in the country to institute security measures in their places of worship.
The Ministry explained that this is in view of the growing threat of terrorism in the subregion, and the expansionist drive of terrorist groups towards the coastal West-African States, with a renewed modus operandi of targeting public gatherings, including places of worship.
The Ministry in a statement said, although it is collaborating with the relevant State Security and Intelligence Agencies to institute measures to avert terrorist attacks in the country, it is imperative that these religious groups also enhance security, particularly in areas where mass gatherings are conducted.”
“These measures may include, but not limited to, the installation of CCTV cameras at designated places of worship, and engaging the services of approved Private security guards, among others.”

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mr Adams Bonaa who noticed that terrorists are around the country said the government should use a multi sectoral approach to prevent the country from being attacked.
“You need to put in measures that will capture their data. This will let you know where this person stays. If someone comes from a different place and he or she is unknown, you have to know who that person is. Even though the facility of these mosques and churches must be opened for people to come in, looking at where we have gotten to, you cannot just open it like that, because you open and the person comes in and he will bomb everybody. It has happened in other countries. And so some of us were recommending that just as the President did during covid, their data should be taken,” he said.
Mr Adams Bonaa also said that the churches need more than retired officers or soldiers to be security, saying that they need intelligence and or people with expertise who will not just preach about the word of God but security as well.
