The Ayawaso Central Constituency has joined the nation in mourning the untimely passing of several distinguished public servants and military personnel who perished in a tragic helicopter crash earlier this week.
Among the deceased are the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed — a cherished son of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a heartfelt letter of condolence, the Deputy Communications Officer for Ayawaso Central, Hon. Muntaka Danladi Sheibanee, expressed profound sorrow over the devastating loss.
The letter conveyed sympathy on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Abdul Rauf Tubazu, the Constituency Chairman, Hon. Harry Otu Hessey, Communications Officer Hon. Morgan Yao Attipoe, and all constituency executives and residents.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of our beloved senior comrades… other dedicated party members and military personnel who served our nation with honor and dedication,” – the statement read.
The message extended condolences to the President of the Republic and Commander-In-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, H.E John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved families, the NDC Chairman Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the entire party fraternity, and the people of Ghana.
Hon. Sheibanee called for the memories of the fallen to serve as a source of inspiration for continued service and patriotism.
“May their memories inspire us to continue their legacy of service and patriotism… May the Almighty grant strength, peace, and comfort to the bereaved families and the nation.”
The crash has shaken the country and left a void in both the political and military leadership of Ghana.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.
