Two dead, two others in critical condition after two motorbikes collided

Two persons died instantly when the two motorbikes crashed.

Reports indicate that two others who were also on the motorbikes are also in critical condition.

According to reports, the two unregistered motorbikes had a head-on collision on the Wenchi-Wurompo Akete to Nwoase road in the Bono Region

The accident happened at about 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021.

Radio West Africa reports that two of the victims, Veronica Okrah, 21, and Hannah Marfo, 22, both hairdresser apprentices had a fracture on their legs and other parts of their bodies.

“We were three on a motorcycle with one Nje Mallam (now deceased) from Wenchi heading to an unknown destination where the tragic incident occurred,” the victims narrated.

They explained that,”We came for a programme at Tohaba in Wenchi and Nje Mallam told us that there is another programme at another place so we should go with him and we agreed to follow him but we did not know exactly where we were going. Before we realized, we were involved in this accident but we have no idea what triggered the accident.”

They confirmed that both riders were pronounced dead on the scene.

The identity of the other deceased has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital awaiting autopsy and preservation.

According to Radio West Africa, the Wenchi Divisional MTTD Command of the Ghana Police Service are still investigating the cause of the accident.
