In a ceremony that drew diplomats, media moguls, and political heavyweights including the Minister of State for Government Communications, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Unilever Ghana Limited was honoured by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) for its outstanding contribution to press freedom and media development.

The event, held as part of the 2025 World Press Freedom Day commemoration, saw Unilever receive a prestigious citation in recognition of its long-standing sponsorship of the GJA Media Awards and its iconic support for the P.A.V. Ansah Journalist of the Year prize.

“For many years, your mouth-watering prize – a three-month all-expenses-paid Advanced Journalism Course at the Thompson Foundation in Cardiff, Wales – was the target of every Ghanaian journalist,” the citation read.

“Through that invaluable support, you helped to promote high journalistic standards.”

GJA President, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, who signed the citation, lauded Unilever’s commitment to journalism excellence, describing the company as “a true friend of the media.”
