Scores of persons have gathered at the Ridge house of the former President Jerry John Rawlings after news of his demise went viral Thursday morning.
Former President of the Republic of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings, died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital today, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 73, after battling a short illness.
Meanwhile, both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Party (NDC) have suspended their political campaigns following the demise of the statesman.
The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has declared seven days of national mourning from Friday 13th November to Friday 20th November following the demise of former President Jerry Rawlings.
In honour of the late President , Akufo Addo has directed all NPP campaigns to be suspended for the period of mourning.
