We Will Rebuild Circle Market to the Best Standard – Ayawaso Central MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ayawaso Central, Hon. Collingwood Williams, has assured traders that the Circle Market will be rebuilt to the highest standard following the recent devastating fire outbreak.

Speaking during a visit to the affected market area on Wednesday morning, the MCE urged traders to remain calm, assuring them that the government will take the necessary steps to support those whose shops and properties were destroyed.

According to him, measures are being considered to ensure that affected traders are properly compensated, while plans are put in place to reconstruct the market in a modern and safer manner to prevent future incidents.

“We are committed to rebuilding the Circle Market to the best standard to avert any eventuality. Government will not abandon the traders,” Hon. Williams said.

The assurance follows the fire outbreak at the Circle Market behind the VVIP Transport Station, which razed dozens of shops and destroyed properties worth millions of Ghana cedis.

The MCE noted that assessments are ongoing to determine the extent of damage and to guide the redevelopment process, adding that safety standards will be a key priority in the reconstruction.

Affected traders have welcomed the visit and appealed for swift action to enable them to return to business and restore their livelihoods.
