The Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says his party will take all the legitimate steps to reverse the results of the 2020 elections, which he described as flawed.
Electoral Commission boss, Jean Mensah, on Wednesday Wednesday 9th December 2020 declared Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as winner of the 2020 general elections.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,413, representing 51.595%, while John Mahama garnered 6, 214, 889 representing 47.366% in the 8th election in the 4th Republic that had a dozen candidates.
After the declaration of the results by the EC, the NDC has fiercely opposed the outcome, arguing that their candidate John Dramani Mahama is the winner of the polls, per pink sheets in their possession.
Speaking to party faithfuls at a press conference Thursday evening, the presidential candidate for the NDC John Dramani Mahama said the NDC will not accept anything short of a declaration of the legitimate results which point to an NDC majority in Parliament.
He added that the NDC will continue it’s meticulous audit of all pink sheets to ensure that the will of the people is protected.
” Let me assure all voters that your vote will count. It is very clear that the NDC won this elections and no amount of trickery will change that. I am proud of our MPs who have earned the title of Giant Elephant Killers. Let history look back and be proud of how we stood up to defend the will of the people which they tried to steal” , he added.
