3 Police officers interdicted over assault on Ghanaian Times journalists

Ghana Police Service has interdicted three police officers for assaulting three Ghanaian Times Journalists.

The three are Inspector Isaac Opare of the Ministries Division in Accra, No. 37698 Sgt Ebenezer Akrofi of the Accra Regional Police headquarters and No 50852 L/Cpl Evans Kofi Ntim of Police visibility Accra.

In a press statement signed by the Assistant commissioner of Police, David Eklu, the Inspector General of Police directed the interdiction of these officers for their involvement in an alleged assault on three Ghanaian Journalists on 14th March 2019.

The IGP further directed the Accra Regional Crime Officer to take over the investigations of the case from the Ministries Police station.

The Commander of the Accra Central Motor Traffic Unit is to take over the motor traffic accident aspect of the case.
