Lawrence Tetteh receives highest award of Hungary

The President of Hungary, H.E. János Áder, has honoured international Evangelist, Founder and Leader of World Miracle Outreach, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, with the highest national award of his country—the Knight of Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary.

At a colourful ceremony held at the Hungarian Embassy on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, Dr Tetteh, conferment was done on behalf of President Áder by the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tamás Fehér,

Dr Lawrence Tetteh was honoured by the Hungarian government for his immense contribution and outstanding performance aimed at building bilateral and business relationships between Ghana and Hungary.

Conferring the Honour on Dr Tetteh, the Hungarian Ambassador mentioned that this was the second time a Ghanaian was receiving the award in the history of Hungary.

Former President of Ghana, H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor, who happened to be the special guest of honour underscored that. Dr Tetteh has contributed to the diplomatic relationship between Ghana and Hungary and for that reason, he was deserving of the award. He contended that Dr Tetteh contributed immensely to the opening of the Hungarian Embassy in Ghana.

Addressing the ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, admitted that Dr Tetteh has been of great help to her commending him for his passion for the Ghana – Hungary relationship and how this can be harnessed for the mutual benefit of their friendship.

“He is an embodiment of the relations between our two countries, Ambassadors come and go, but Dr Lawrence Tetteh remains here, ensuring that the relations between our two countries continue to be friendly, cordial and strengthening”, she noted.

In a brief acceptance remark, Dr Tetteh who is also a Televangelist, an Economist, a Philanthropist, a Counsellor, and also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), expressed appreciation for the honour done him and dedicated the award to God.

“I always say, let’s learn to do things right, and people will recommend us, let’s learn to come to that place where we will not be too arrogant, and people will respect us, let’s learn to come to that place and be truthful to ourselves and people will accept us. The secret is that fear God and keep his commandments and every other thing will be added unto it,” he echoed.

Meanwhile, he stressed that the relationship between Ghana and Hungary is through the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC).
