Ghana’s “Sugarcane”, Camidoh, has landed his first ever B.E.T awards nomination.
Black Entertainment Television (BET) is an American award show which is presented annually. A platform that celebrates black entertainers, and most musicians, filmmakers, sports, and philanthropists aim at the height of their stardom to win awards.
2023 has been a great year for Ghana’s current most popular musician Camidoh, his nomination category include ASAKE from Nigeria, FLO from the UK, LIBIANCA from Cameroon, MAUREEN from France, MC RYAN SP from Brazil, PABI COOPER from South Africa, RAYE from the UK, and WERENOI from France.
Each nominee represents a unique expression of creative talent and contributes to the celebration of Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports.

The “BET Awards” is set to commemorate 50 years of Hip Hop and will be broadcast live on BET on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT. The event, known as Culture’s Biggest Night, promises to be an exciting celebration of the global impact of the Hip Hop genre.
The nomination of Camidoh is a testament to his rising prominence in the music industry and his ability to captivate audiences with his exceptional artistry.

Ghanaian comic actor and owner of Dabo Soccer Academy has recounted how he was served food for children in an Emirates flight on one of his trips.
Due to his size, he was probably mistaken for a child and was therefore given a smaller amount of food.
Sharing his ordeal on a sister station, Yaw Dabo said the ‘baby food’ was not the only thing he got because of his looks, saying that he was also given colours and a book to draw to enjoy his flight.
According to him, when the food was brought to him, he felt it was a starter until he realised that of his friend who came after he was served was more than his.

Despite being mistaken for a child, he said he showed his passport to the Air Hostess after which she corrected the error.
It was an Emirates Airline flight. I was unaware; they delivered mine first. They initially presented me with a bag.Later, they presented me with a coloring pencil and a book. Then, my food was brought to me, and I informed Papa Kumasi that I was eating. When they delivered his food, however, I realized it was different. So I decided to inquire, and they explained that my food was for children, whereas Papa Kumasi’s was for adults. I then showed them my passport, and they apologized,” he explained.
Meanwhile, that was not the first time Dabo was mistaken for a child.
Just Recently, when he traveled to Spain to watch Real Madrid vrs Man City match, Dabo stole all the attention with his comments which earned him an interview on Spanish TV Marca after the Real Madrid match.
Despite his size, he is known for his hard work and dedication combining acting and managing young football stars.
