Three Dead, 15 Injured in Fatal Crash at Juaso on Kumasi-Accra Highway

Three persons have been confirmed dead while 15 others sustained various degrees of injuries following a fatal road crash at Juaso Three-Lane near NEXT BON Gas on the Kumasi-Accra Highway.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the accident occurred on Monday, July 13, 2026, at about 9:39 a.m., involving a Shackman F3000 truck with registration number GN9673-25 and a Dongfeng van with registration number GM4002-26.

According to the GNFS, the truck, which was loaded with clinker, was being driven by Mr Stephen Amankwah, while the Dongfeng van was driven by Mr Nyame Ebenezer.

A total of 18 people were involved in the crash. Three victims, two males and one female were pronounced dead at the scene, while 15 others suffered various degrees of injuries.

A joint rescue team from the Konongo-Odumase and Juaso Fire Stations responded to the emergency and retrieved the bodies of the deceased victims, who were later handed over to the Juaso Police.

The two drivers and 13 other injured persons were rescued by members of the public before the arrival of the fire officers and were transported to the Juaso Government Hospital for urgent treatment.

The GNFS said the accident caused partial damage to the cowl of the Shackman F3000 truck, while the windscreen and engine compartment of the Dongfeng van sustained total damage.

The Service has urged motorists to remain vigilant, obey traffic regulations and exercise caution while using the roads to help reduce road crashes and fatalities.
