The Coalition of Elected Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has thrown its full weight behind the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, firmly rejecting allegations and criticisms levelled against him ahead of the party’s National Delegates Conference.

The coalition described the attacks on the General Secretary as unfair, politically motivated and a deliberate attempt to undermine his leadership at a critical period in the party’s rebuilding process following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

Addressing a press conference on behalf of the coalition, Emmanuel Kwabena Opoku Agyei, popularly known as Nana Agyei Sikapa and the newly elected Constituency Secretary for Ablekuma Central, commended Mr. Kodua for what he described as exemplary leadership and dedication to the growth of the NPP.

He said the General Secretary has remained focused on strengthening the party’s structures, promoting internal democracy and ensuring that party activities are conducted in accordance with the NPP’s constitution.

According to him, Justin Kodua Frimpong has played a key role in coordinating the party’s reorganisation efforts across the country, particularly through the successful conduct of constituency executive elections.

He argued that the elections, despite isolated challenges, demonstrated the party’s commitment to democratic principles and transparency under the leadership of the General Secretary.

The coalition further maintained that attempts to tarnish Mr. Kodua’s image ahead of the National Delegates Conference are misplaced and risk creating unnecessary divisions within the party.

They urged party members to remain focused on rebuilding a united and formidable NPP capable of recapturing political power in the 2028 general elections, rather than engaging in internal attacks.

The executives also called on delegates to judge the General Secretary based on his performance and commitment to the party rather than what they described as “baseless propaganda.”

They insisted that Mr. Kodua has consistently worked in the best interest of the NPP and deserves the confidence and support of the rank and file.

Reaffirming their confidence in the General Secretary, the coalition pledged its unwavering support for Justin Kodua Frimpong and appealed to all party faithful to rally behind the national leadership as preparations intensify for the National Delegates Conference.

They stressed that unity, discipline and collective responsibility remain essential if the NPP is to reposition itself and mount a strong challenge in the 2028 elections.
