Ashaiman’s Deplorable Roads: How Long Must Residents Wait?

Ashaiman’s Deplorable Roads

Ashaiman, one of the largest municipalities in the Greater Accra Region, continues to face serious road challenges, leaving residents and motorists frustrated.

For years, residents have complained about deteriorating roads and called on successive governments to intervene. Despite demonstrations and repeated appeals, many of the roads remain in poor condition.

The situation becomes worse during rainy periods, when some roads become difficult to use. Workers struggle to commute, while motorists are forced to navigate potholes and muddy stretches.

The problem is particularly worrying on roads linking Ashaiman to Atadeka and other adjoining communities, where residents say poor road conditions continue to affect daily activities.

With the current government promising major road projects across the country, residents are asking when Ashaiman will receive its share of the investment.

The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, and the Municipal Chief Executive, Freeman Tsekpo, must work with the government and relevant agencies to push for urgent solutions to the municipality’s road problems.

Ashaiman residents contribute to the local economy and deserve reliable road infrastructure.

The time has come for concrete action to address the long-standing road challenges and improve transportation and living conditions in the municipality.
