Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited has donated waiting chairs to the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) Health Services to improve patient comfort and support quality healthcare delivery.
The donation was presented at the forecourt of the University Administration as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and efforts to strengthen its partnership with the University.
The Deputy Managing Director–Operations of Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Limited, Madam Lydia Owusu, said the donation formed part of the company’s CSR initiatives and was aimed at contributing to the welfare of the University community.
She said the gesture also provides a foundation for deeper collaboration between Tobinco Pharmaceuticals and UENR, adding that the company looks forward to achieving greater milestones with the University.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, described the gesture as timely, particularly considering the condition of some of the existing chairs at the health facility.
He said the donation demonstrated Tobinco Pharmaceuticals’ attentiveness to the needs of the University Health Services and expressed appreciation to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Samuel Nana Amo Tobbin, for its continued support.
Prof. Asare-Bediako reaffirmed the University’s commitment to maintaining its business relationship with Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, noting that the company remains a competitive partner within the University’s structured procurement system.

He explained that the University’s procurement processes are guided by established operational rules.
The Director of University Health Services, Dr. Solomon Fofie, also expressed appreciation for the donation, saying it came at a time when patient attendance at the facility was increasing significantly.
According to him, the growing number of patients had placed pressure on the available waiting facilities, with some patients occasionally having to stand due to inadequate seating.
Dr. Fofie commended University Management for its continued support towards improving healthcare delivery on campus and emphasised the importance of partnerships in strengthening the University’s health system.
He assured that the donated chairs would be put to good use to improve patient comfort and enhance customer service at the University Health Services.
