Ghana and France are exploring opportunities to deepen cooperation in the energy sector following a meeting between Energy and Green Transition Minister John Abdulai Jinapor and French Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Diarra Dime-Labille.
The meeting, according to Mr Jinapor, focused on strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Ghana and France, with particular attention to accelerating strategic collaboration in the energy sector.
The French Ambassador was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Country Director of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Ghana, Madam Clémentine Dardy.
Mr Jinapor said the engagement provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss areas of mutual interest and identify avenues for closer cooperation between Ghana and France.
He said the government remains committed to deepening Ghana’s partnership with France and ensuring that bilateral engagements translate into tangible socio-economic benefits for citizens of both countries.
The discussions come as Ghana continues to seek strategic partnerships and investments to strengthen the country’s energy sector and support sustainable economic development.
France, through institutions such as the AFD, has been involved in supporting development projects in Ghana, including initiatives in infrastructure, energy, climate and sustainable development.
The latest engagement is therefore expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and create opportunities for collaboration in Ghana’s energy transition and broader development agenda.
