Ajei Kojo: Fear grips residents following murder of 10 year-old-girl

Family of the 10-year-old girl who was murdered in her house by an unknown assailant at Adjei Kojo-Suncity, a suburb of the Tema West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, is calling for speedy investigation into the matter.

The murder of the girl, Nyamyo Nartey, at their compound house on Friday evening, September 4th 2020, has thrown the whole Adjei Kojo Suncity into a state of fear.

The girl, according to her mother, Salomey Terkpetey, who sells kenkey within the vicinity, she asked her daughter who was with her by the road side selling, to go home and change due to the cozy weather, only for her to return home to find her daughter lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit and her intestines gushing out from her stomach.

Father of the murdered girl, Fredrick Nartey, who had rushed from his base in Tarkwa following the incident, could not fathom why someone will carry out such heinous crime, since he bears no one any grudge .

He wants the police to expedite investigations to unravel the perpetrator of the crime,

Meanwhile some tenants and other residents in the area who spoke to Atinka TV’s Philip Azu, said they are living in fear, judging from the manner in which the crime was carried out in a compound house, with no one noticing.

In a related development, the Ashaiman Divisional Police Command is pleading with the general public to assist the police with any information on the issue.

Divisional Crime Officer, Supt Tony Adepa, who confirmed the police picking up some exhibits at the crime scene, said no arrests have been made yet in connection with the murder.
