Six persons died on the spot while 22 others sustained various degrees of injuries after a bus caught fire on Tuesday morning at Akomadan in the Ashanti Region.
Confirming the incident to Atinka FM’s sister station, Agyenkwa FM, the Akomadan District Police Commander, DSP Gyasi Agyemang explained that the bus, which was speeding rammed into a KIA Rhino vehicle with registration number, GB 83-12 which had been parked at the police checkpoint.
The bus immediately caught fire resulting in the casualties.

“Currently, the 6 charred bodies have been conveyed to the Nkekaasu Morgue while the injured are receiving treatment at the Offinso Government Hospital.
According to the Police Chief , the speeding bus with registration number, ET 4215-17 was conveying passengers from Nandom to Kumasi when the unfortunate incident occurred.
